New generation muckraking?

Okay. This week in Graber and the lessons we learn about muckraking. These investigative journalist go out dig up dirt and expose. But is there any muckraking? Does that term really exist? With the internet and social media putting everything at fingertips, I don't think there is much of anything that needs investigating. Sound bytes, videos, and pictures tell all the story that you need. A random thing happened this week. You know how we heard that say it ain't so Joe (Biden) has mentioned before that he thought about running for president? Well, you should probably know that Hillary is wanting to run as well. Now, who do think that the Democratic Party and their PACs want to win? Why yes of course, Hillary! So,  guess what? Joe Biden's son was  from the Navy for failing a drug test. Yep, cocaine to be exact.

The Wall Street Journal reported this. I do think that this was a secret planned attack from camp Clinton. Trust me, in politics family members are the first to be attacked.

  1. Jason, I agree with you to some extent. However, I do not agree that sound bytes, videos and pictures tell all the story we need. Remember, these stories are being told from the perspective/perception of another, and what is perceived is not always what is "truly" happening. Perhaps the Clinton camp did release this on purpose, however, since this is a private and personal matter of Clinton's friend, Joe Biden, I am not sure this is accurate. I would hope that the Clinton camp would not go after our V.P. in this manner. His family should be off limits. Remember, when Sarah Palin was the V.P. pick for the Republican Party, and her family/children were verbally attack. President Obama asked people to back off, and that their family and children should be off limits. The Democratic Party needs competition!! Let the nominee EARN the nomination. Personally, I would love to see Elizabeth Warren in the race, and perhaps Martin O'Malley. Just because the Clintons are popular, well-known, and respected doesn't mean that everyone who desires to run, should lay down and play dead. If Hillary Clinton wants it, then she had better EARN it, just like President Obama did in 2008 and 2012, Bush in 2000 and 2004, Clinton in 1992 and 1996. GO GET IT!!
